The artist profiles listed below are not only the resident artists of Stony Creek Gallery andRed Pepper Gallery but also the owners!. Meet Michael Parker and Linda Ward, and hear what they have to say as they talk of their experience, background and inspirations. The pair have been working in the industry for a number of years both with a strong family background with the arts. Its hard not to like these two dedicated and hardworking members of Daylesford's art community. When they have time they can be found normally dwelling near the galleries eager to interact with the locals and tourists and are happy to answer any questions you may have. Come in and meet these two fantastic additions to the Daylesford art scene.

Born in Melbourne in 1968, Michael was surrounded by brushes and paints constantly, his mother was (and still is) an extremely talented artist. As he grew older, He found that he had a natural flair for creating unique and diverse pieces. Spending years perfecting his medium, painting various subjects, from portraits to abstracts, all of which he has enjoyed immensely.
Later in life, he spent four years in Europe, working on his passion. Upon returning home, in 1996, Michael Parker was commissioned to paint Sir Donald Bradman, walking onto the MCG, in 1937. This was made into a limited edition print. 20 of which were signed by Sir Don himself.
Now, Michael with 22 years of painting experience, feels at ease painting many different styles, using the wonder of nature's many unique colours as his inspiration and theme.
Michael loves to explore all mediums, often using acrylics, oils, pencil, and pastels, all with plenty of texture, and often all included in the one painting.
He has now settled in beautiful Spa Country, Daylesford(Victoria, Australia), where he is truly inspired by the magnificent views and lake surroundings.
Michael is thankful everyday for his wonderful partner,Linda, who has always supported and encouraged his talent, every step of the way, and acknowledges his wonderful family, who gave him the gift of art, for which he will be forever grateful.
Michael has works in private collections through out Australia and in over 12 countries worldwide.

Linda, from the age of five has enjoyed, drawing and painting on an almost daily basis. Over the years she developed her own style of painting, which depicts the colours of Autumn, Winter, Summer and Spring. Being by the sea and around nature being her favourite pastime.
Her colours flow together, thus creating a gentle and serene feel to her work, which is calming and easy to look at.
Inspired by simplicity and the changing seasons, abstract contemporary is Linda's calling, and her painting reflects this in the simple lines and autumn, winter and summer colours Linda like to use mainly acrylics as her medium.
She love's to add a different dimension by using texture to give life to her paintings. Colour is also her main focus, and Linda loves her choice of colours to create a certain feeling of warmth with the Autumn, Winter colours, and fresh crispness with the Summer, Spring coloiurs, creating that light, summery feel.
Linda has sold over 300 paintings Australia wide, and is one to be watched for her specialty, working with home decor' ... a useful hint for Interior Designers.
