Stony Creek Gallery was a dream one year ago. The Gallery owners were regular visitors to Daylesford travelling from Mordialloc, Gallery owners Michael said to his partner, Linda "Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have to go home", In that moment a decision was made that was to change their lives forever
The property was found, the renovations completed and Stony Creek Gallery was born!
On entering the gallery the first thing you will notice is the floor, It is a piece of art, a story, handwritten by Michael Parker himself.
This original story, Michael wrote about 8 years ago, which depicts the amazing determination of a little boy living inside a box, but noticing the beauty through the cracks, that can always be found, through looking carefully, and that although many obstacles may confront us in our journey through life, we all have the ability to see the best, in things and people, and to manifest everything we want, simply through thought. Stony Creek Gallery's floor was the perfect canvas for an amazing story which has an energy all of its own, one that you will feel, when you take your first step into Stony Creek Gallery.
We have carefully researched and found artists from all walks of life, mainly from regional Australia, and are proud to display their works in the most beautiful serene setting, here in Spa Country, Daylesford.
All paintings on display are original 'Michael Parker' pieces. Michael uses acrylics, enamel, resin, pencil, copper, aluminium, driftwood, shells, and many other materials he finds in his travels, in this amazingly wide variety of work. All contemporary, abstract.
